Dear Mum,

Just a line to let you know how I am getting on. I don't think I will be much longer in hospital. Everything has healed up although the eye isn't much use. It's that near blind that is doesn't matter. I had another from Snowy. He was coming out to see me but when he was on leave he caught influenza, I don't know whether that's the way you spell it or not & had to go to hospital. He is marked permanently unfit. I don't know what he has wrong with him but I don't think it is too much. There were about 300 men went out of here today for Australia. I haven't had a letter since I last wrote, but I have been getting them pretty regular. There is no news. Hoping everybody is well.

I remain your aff son,

Frank.
